I have accidentally dyed my hair ginger how can i make it blond again?

I bought Loreal feria (multi-faceted highlights) in extremely light blond to touch up my already highlighted hair!

I completely followed the instructions to the word... yet now the majority of the highlights are a coppery ginger color!!!! Ahhh... what can i do to correct this HELP???

I have accidentally dyed my hair ginger how can i make it blond again?

Do not worry there is still hope! Since you have a lot of red in your hair due to the feria I do not recommend you coloring your hair right away. Before you jump into coloring your hair you will need to prepare your hair for a rough ride. First start preparing your hair by doing daily moistureizing treatments with mayonaise. I know it sounds crazy but mayonaise will add a lot of nutrients to your hair and will prepare for a harsh process you need to undertake to correct this problem. Apply the mayonaise as if you where to apply haircolor and put a shower cap over your hair. Leave the mayonaise mixture for 10 minutes before rinsing. Rinse your hair and then use a leave in condtioner. Do this for about two to three days. After that time has elasped buy the loreal colorzap haircolor remover. Your hair will be stripped of all the haircolor that was deposited in your hair. After doing this your hair is ready for recoloring in no time. Dark Hair with a regular blonde color even the lightest possible or ultra light blonde has the tendency to turn red. To avoid this you need to do a double process bleach blonding. The bleach blonding product I recommend is the Clairol Born Blonde Maxi because it does the most optimal blonding without the unwanted brassiness. After you have bleached your hair apply the mayonaise mixute to nourish it. The next day use the regular blonde color of your choice. What I recommend is the revlon colorsilk blonde collection. The shade I personally recommend is the revlon colorsilk #71 Golden Blonde. It is a beautiful golden blonde with built in highlights without the unwanted brassiness. You will have a beautiful shade of blonde which is analogous to Reese Witherspoon's blonde. After you colored your hair use condtioner. I cannot stress enough the importance of a conditioner. To keep your blonde color vibrant what I recommend is the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Honey to Caramel shampoo conditioner plus color glaze. Pantene Pro V blonde expressions is also fine. With these tips you will have beautiful salon quality hair without the salon.

bleach works

I have accidentally dyed my hair ginger how can i make it blond again?

dont EVER use feria again. it messes hair up. metallic dye in it.

what you want to do is buy a light ash blond shade from nice and easy or hydrience.

and then depe condition

personally, i would go to a salon.. i would be scared if i tried to fix it, as i might make it worse.

although it doesn't sound that bad... you could just dye your whole head in the color you had before highlights. then in a few weeks try a different color of highlights over it.

good luck!!

bleach it then dye it blonde

I have accidentally dyed my hair ginger how can i make it blond again?

yikes . i have been throught that too . well dont dry it out . try bleaching it but then use lots of good conditioner . other wise u willl have no hair . good luck !

what color was your new growth? Depending on the color you already have in your hair, you might have to strip it to get the blonde you are looking for, that can be very harsh to the hair. Consider doing highlights, instead of the stripping process. Or come see me in Leesville, La. I will fix anything!

Question on hair for cosmetologists or anyone else?

i need help finding a highlighting kit .

the one i want to buy says that i cannot use it over color restorers or metallic dyes . i am not really sure what that is but i am going to dye my hair so i ;m guessing i can ;t use it . if i can , then please tell me so .

the one i wanted was toasted almond hi-light styliste from loreal paris .

since i can ;t use it , i need help finding another " toasted almond " highlighting kit or something that would go good with dark brown / medium brown hair .

any help would be greatly appreciated !

Question on hair for cosmetologists or anyone else?

The color restorers are products like Grecian and any products for grey hair that you don't mix. Grecian contains lead. Metalic dyes would be the semi-permanent products that you don't mix (Manic Panic, Loreal Color Pulse mousse, Beyond the Zone, perhaps Adore, etc). If it is used directly out of a bottle or tube, and without mixing anything, then chances are, it falls into the metalic dye category. This would also apply to henna.

The problem here with mixing chemical processes with metalic/mineral dyes is that they may cause unintended chemical reactions. One lady who used a chemical product over a metalic dye product had smoke coming out of her hair. I allowed a chemical lightener to come in contact with a metalic dye, and it turned green! Just think if they were in my hair!

Generally, you can use the highlighting kits over previous chemical lightener products (the ones that you mix and smell like ammonia). However, such a use is not predictable. So do the recommended strand test first. If that works okay, then, and only then should you use it on the rest of your hair.

My main concern is all this chemical processing so close together. If I am hearing you right, you want to color and then highlight.

Sure you can ask. Report It

Hey girls .. what u think?

After i had amber highlights and brownish/ dark color, yesterday i colored my hair into habana brown... and the results got into Darker color! i bought this permanent color from Loreal F鑼卹ia... is this a good brand??

and i dye my hair my own (just to see the color i'd got) and i applied Volume Mousse from garnier and my hair is a lil rude now... soft but feels like thicker now... what can i do to get it soft/curl? by the way, my hair is long(at the half of my back layered)..... any idea??

Hey girls .. what u think?

I use to use the L'Oreal brand as well (several years ago). My stylist strongly encouraged me to stop using over the counter hair color and have it done professionally (whether at her salon or somewhere else - but just professionally). She indicated that these over the counter brands can do exactly what you are describing - build up on your hair. This affects how your hair feels and styles.

So my advice is to go to a nice salon - pay the money and have it done right. It will look great. Depending on how fast your hair grows you might only have to go a few times per year. I go 2 -3 times/year since my colorist does such a great job (I get the full head of highlights with some strands left natural - this way it as it grows out - it's not so extreme).

Good luck!

Hey girls .. what u think?

Dip your head in hot boiling water

Hey girls .. what u think?

feria is a hairstylist's nightmare cause it's pretty much impossible to get out of the hair (but at least you know it will stay- weather you want it to or not!). I would not recommend coloring your own hair because: 1) it sounds like your hair is already damaged from coloring. when you are using permanent color (the harshest) from scalp to ends every time you will end up overprocessing the ends of your hair. Permanent color should be applied to roots only.... 2) the results are very unpredictable with home haircoloring because it was not formulated specifically for YOUR hair and the result that YOU want, it was formulated for the general public. so its kinda "hit or miss"

As far as getting soft curl... do you have any natural curl? I would use a 1" to 1 1/2" curling iron ("Hot Tools" is a really good brand). pick up random pieces and alternate curling one clockwise and the other counterclockwise. Start in the middle of the piece you are curling and turn the curling iron until the ends are tucked in between the shell and the barrel of the iron. If you have any natural curl you could mix natural with curling iron curl and shake it together so they blend (it helps sometimes to leave the ends out when you curl your hair so it blends better with the natural curl)

Loreal PULSE?

If you used it, give me ALL the info on it.

like, how long intill the color faded from your hair...

how much it cost...

does it work well..

ECT.

Loreal PULSE?

it works well.

it smells good!

the color is good, but the bottle is rrreeeeeeeaaaaalllllyy tiny and i have too much hair for just one so when i did it it didnt cover all my hair.

it was easy to do.

the time in which it takes the color to fade depends on how often you wash it.

costs like $10 at the most.

makes your hair soft and once again smell good.

i think thats about it. and it doesnt stain or damge your hair.

Loreal PULSE?

i used it and it works well depending on what color hair you have i used it and it gave me beautiful red highlights in my dark brown hair. it will usually stay about 2-3 weeks.i think it costs about 5-8 dollars not more than that. if you have really long and thick hair you should buy 2 packages but when i used it there was alot in that package.they come in alot of really cool funky colors like copper, hot red, blonde and more.

Light brown or burgandy/ purple?

I want to color my hair this summer.. and i'm considering - either light brown natural color by nice and easy,

OR

burgandy/ purple/ violet color - by loreal?

which would look better on my naturally DARK BROWN HAIR?

it was previously dyed 2 and a half months ago to dark brown after a hair highlighting mishap that turned it orange..

which do you prefer?

thanx1

x

Light brown or burgandy/ purple?

light brown natural color by nice and easy

Light brown or burgandy/ purple?

burgandy/purple/violet color, but use it in a wash, so that your hair just has a HINT of purple, but it's still basically dark brown.

Light brown or burgandy/ purple?

The light brown. Burgundy/purple is so 2 years ago.

Light brown or burgandy/ purple?

light brown

Light brown or burgandy/ purple?

I think that you should do the light brown with the burgandy strands, that would be so hot and edgy, very different, but very now.

Good luck!

Light brown or burgandy/ purple?

i've had some experience with loreal and the color doesnt come out too well on dark hair, but it might work on yours. i really like the violet color on light skin (judging by your picture) but light brown is in the norm and pretty as well, and MUCh easier/bertter to dye your hair then the loreal color.

Light brown or burgandy/ purple?

my hair IS light brown, and ive died it burgandy purple, and i love it purple, and hate it brown

you should make urs purple

Light brown or burgandy/ purple?

light brown

Hair Dye question?

I have medium blonde hair. As I've gotten older, of course my hair has gotten darker.

I was keeping it up by going to the salon. But it was costing me a fortune. I am back in school and have a baby so decided to dye it on my own.

I did a Med. Warm Blonde by Loreal... for some reason some areas came out a little reddish.... how can fix it. Do I dye it again with the same color?

Please help.

Thanks.

Hair Dye question?

well i have used loreal to higlight my hair with the same color but it came out reddish blonde i liked it alot tho =]. but anyway the longer you keep it in the darker it gets. so i would try using the same color just keep it in for a shortere amount of time.

Hair Dye question?

BTW, I wouldn't tell them that you used a Loreal product--unless you tell them that you were dissatisfied with it and are switching to Clairol

Hair Dye question?

same happened to mine it was red in some lights nd blonde in the others i went to the hair dressers and they put a toner through it and it worked great

Hair Dye question?

no do not dye it agian with the same color, unfortunally you have to go to the salon if you want a good color because it sounds like your hair pulls red. if you want i would sujest that you buy something that says ash blonde. my hair pulls red and that has always worked. also if you want you can put highliths in it to make it look better instead of dying your whole head
